Spotlight: Dietz & Watson

A positive experience and flavors are the ideal combination to motivate consumers, says Dietz & Watson Premium Meats & Artisan Cheeses officials.

This summer the company is launching a reformulated line of chicken sausage while keeping with their focus on innovation, flavor and health, officials say. The line features all natural, gluten free and pork free varieties and flavors including Tomatillo Salsa and Spinach and Asiago.

Dietz & Watson is focused on competition from other sandwich shops and sandwich chains. “We are working closely with our retail partners to improve the experience at the deli counter, as we continue to focus on educating the consumers on the benefits and values they get from consuming a higher quality product,” said spokeswoman Lauren Eni. “We believe that experience and flavor are the two greatest motivators for consumers in our category, and we believe we excel in both.”

Their flagship product remains Dietz & Watson’s Gourmet Lite Turkey Breast, introduced more than 30 years ago. “We introduced this item in 1981, as a lower sodium and lower fat item, before anyone else was doing this,” Eni said. “To this day it remains one of our top selling items.  Over the last few years we continue to see the entire poultry category growing, especially our line of chicken items.”
