Global Accelerator FoodFutureCo Announces Cohort Graduates, Opens Search for New Applicants in Food, Agriculture and Food Supply Chain Sectors

FoodFutureCo (FFC), a leading global accelerator and investment platform focused on supercharging the growth of post-revenue, early-stage start-ups, has announced the graduates of its Cohort9 program and opened applications to the next generation of companies set to disrupt the food, agriculture and social entrepreneurship industries. Its Cohort10 program begins applications now through Sept. 30, 2022.

Now in its sixth year, FFC’s portfolio includes companies within all aspects of the food supply chain, from grain to shelf and includes Consumer Products, Local Food, Plant-based Food, Sustainable Food, Ag Tech, Food Tech and Food Waste businesses.

FoodFutureCo’s Managing Partner & Founder, Shen Tong, is an accelerator veteran having founded Food-X, named one of 2015’s most innovative companies in food by Fast Company. “While some sectors face a challenging investment environment, innovations that help secure food supply chains in sustainable, affordable and ethical ways have never been more important,” Tong said. “We continue to see huge opportunities in this sector and have consistently seen 5x returns on investments with the companies we work with. We are thrilled to congratulate the graduates of our Cohort9 and excited to welcome applications for Cohort10.”

Those graduating as Cohort9 and set to grow intensely within their space include:

  • PeelOn– A unique plant-based protective coating technology that triples the shelf life of fresh produce.
  • ClickChefs– Healthy and nutritional meal preparation, delivered straight to your table by local, established chefs.
  • Molinos– Bringing global spices to the Philippine and ASEAN regions for food prep and cooking ingredients.
  • Farmers Grove– A botanical fruit drink that offers a low sugar, high nutritional value refreshing beverage.

Designed to partner with companies during the “scary chasm” phase of development (as described by Geoffrey Moore), the program provides initial investment as well as a five-month mentoring program covering every aspect of scaling a business. Working in-depth with a core team of Experts in Residence (EIRs) as well as a community of more than 500 mentors at the peak of their game, the program consists of a series of developmental models that use lectures and discussion groups to help founders and entrepreneurs to take their product or service from the initial phase through to a mainstream offering.

In addition to business functions such as positioning, marketing initiatives, sales strategy, community building, operations, distribution, logistics, financials, legal and patent protections, the program also provides consultancy on alternative financing, operation scaling and financial exit. It also helps companies secure additional funding through the development of core business strategies, financial models and investor pitch materials as well as introductions to its investor network. Along with being an investment platform with direct investments, early and multi-stage VC funds and investor syndicates, FFC has a vast investor network.

For the Cohort10 program, FFC is looking at companies offering consumer products or work within the food technology, agri-tech, agriculture, supply chain and SaaS industries and that are tracking an annual or projected turnover of $1 million. Interested companies can apply from one of the following entry mechanisms:

To date, FFC has successfully supported 35 portfolio companies, helped secure 48 funding rounds and ten companies to exit. Its full list of portfolio companies can be seen here. For more information, click here.
