C&S Wholesale names President

C&S Wholesale Grocers appointed Mark Verdi to serve as president, a new position for the company.

Verdi will assume his new role on March 1, assuming responsibilities of day-to-day operations. He succeeds Rick Cohen, C&S’s CEO and chairman. Cohen will stay in his position but shift into a role where he can steer strategy and innovation for the company.

“Mark Verdi is a great addition to our management team who brings world class leadership and management skills and has a proven track record of strengthening teams and improving operations at large, fast-growing companies and global brands,” Cohen said in a statement.

Verdi previously worked for Bain Capital, where he served as managing director and co-head of the private investment firm’s Global Portfolio Group. Before Bain, Verdi led the financial services business transformation group at IBM Global Services and was SVP of finance and operations at the consulting firm, Mainspring.
