PCC announces store in downtown Seattle
On March 9, PCC Community Markets (PCC) announced it will open a store in downtown Seattle. The store will be located in a new Rainier Square, 58-story, 1.17 million-square-foot mixed-use project.
“Downtown Seattle is a vibrant and growing neighborhood with so many different appetites — from the lunch crowd hungry for a quick, made-from-scratch bite to tourists craving an authentic taste of our city to the growing population of residents who want to stock their kitchens with fresh, local, organic, sustainably-sourced and seasonal fare,” said Cate Hardy, PCC CEO. “The opportunity to be part of this community in the central Rainier Square location is of incredible significance for our co-op. We are excited about the impact we can make on behalf of local producers, farmers and ranchers, and the deeper connection we can foster with the town we’ve called home for 65 years,” Hardy said.
PCC appeals to consumers who want natural and organic food choices. More than 95 percent of its produce selection is organic, meats are 100 percent organic, non-GMO or grass-fed and its seafood is sustainably sourced. PCC also offers salads, soups, entrées and side dishes made daily with fresh organic produce.
The company operates 10 stores in the Puget Sound area. It will double the size of its West Seattle store in 2019, open a store in Burien in Spring 2018 and has plans for a store in Ballard in 2019 and Madison Valley in 2020.
