Amazon offer Prime member benefits at Whole Foods Market

On Wednesday May 16, Amazon announced it would offer an additional 10 percent off on hundreds of items throughout Whole Foods Market and Whole Foods Market 365 stores across the country exclusively for Amazon Prime customers.

Prime members will also be able to take advantage of weekly Prime member deals that give them discounts on certain best-selling items. Prime member privileges will be available from May 16 onwards.

“We’re thrilled for Whole Foods Market to be part of the Prime experience,” said John Mackey, co-founder and CEO of Whole Foods Market. “By offering greater discounts on sale items, and exclusive deals like $10 off a pound for sustainably-sourced, wild-caught halibut, launching savings for Prime members is an amazing opportunity to bring our industry-leading quality standards and delicious food to more customers at a better price,” Mackey said.

Amazon’s move comes shortly after it announced that it was raising its Prime membership fee from $99 to $119. It’s previous membership price hike was in 2014.
