Store Brands Names Dollar General’s Kelly Ma a Game Changer

Kelly Ma, Dollar General’s vice president of global sourcing, has been named a 2025 Store Brands Game Changer. The annual recognition highlights people, brands and company innovation driving change in the private label industry.

Ma’s unparalleled drive to continually source new suppliers helps ensure Dollar General is able to provide high-quality products customers need and want at a value. She recently revolutionized DG’s private brand RFP process to optimize value at scale, helping to boost profitability while providing the opportunity for reinvestments in product quality. The new process also helps support a diversified supplier base to bolster supply chain resilience.

With more than 20 years of retail experience anchored in merchandising and buying, Ma joined Dollar General in 2021 as director of global sourcing and was promoted to her current role in 2024. She oversees supplier sourcing and collaboration with DG’s category managers to find the right suppliers for the right products at the right quality and value for DG customers.

DG currently retails more than 3,200 consumable private brand products backed by the company’s 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. Dollar General’s private brands offer highly consumable national brand equivalent and alternative products including Clover Valley food and beverages, DG Health over-the-counter medications, TrueLiving and Smart & Simple paper and cleaning products, Heartland Farms pet food and treats, Studio Selection personal care products and more.
