NABC Chair Teddy Koukoulis Announces Key Leadership Appointments

North American Blueberry Council (NABC) Chair Teddy Koukoulis today announced two strategic appointments to the council’s leadership. Brian Bocock, owner of Bumbleberry Acres of Michigan, was appointed to the U.S. Grower position on the NABC Board of Directors; and Gonzalo Canessa, president of Hortifrut Imports, was appointed chair of the NABC’s United Blueberry Advisory Committee (UBAC).

NABC board members are charged with addressing issues, opportunities and industry practices that drive success and profitability in the production and distribution of blueberries in North America and around the world.

The UBAC, composed of importers who voluntarily double their assessment to support increased promotions and marketing, improved data and insights and industry advocacy, is charged with overseeing how funds from the Blueberry Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) are allocated.

Koukoulis also finalized appointments for a newly created Membership Committee for NABC. Invitations to serve will be sent to prospective committee members soon.

“The expertise and dedication Brian and Gonzalo bring to these roles are essential as we navigate an increasingly dynamic time in our industry’s history,” Koukoulis said. “By strengthening our leadership and establishing the new Membership Committee, we’re ensuring the NABC remains a powerful advocate for the success and profitability of the blueberry industry.”
