Walmart Names Scott McCall as New US Chief Merchandising Officer
Media reports this week announced that Walmart’s current Chief Merchandising Officer of US Operations, Steve Bratspies, is leaving the company after 14 years; company veteran Scott McCall will step in to fill the role.
McCall has recently overseen the operations of Walmart’s US entertainment and toys segment, said The Wall Street Journal. According to Reuters, McCall began working for Walmart about 25 years ago as an hourly management trainee.
“It’s time for a new challenge,” Bratspies told The Wall Street Journal, while declining to discuss his future plans.
Prior to joining Walmart, Bratspies held positions with Specialty Brands, Frito-Lay and worked in management consulting at Andersen Consulting and A.T. Kearney, Inc.
Walmart also named Dacona Smith as Chief Operating Officer of Walmart US. Smith most recently served as COO of Sam’s Club, according to the WSJ.
