Amazon Go to open in San Francisco, Chicago

On Tuesday May 15, The Seattle Times reported e-commerce giant Amazon had posted job listings for store managers in San Francisco and Chicago, speculating the company was expanding its Amazon Go store to the two US cities. Amazon confirmed the report and its plans for the two cities in a statement.

The store uses a collection of cameras and sensors to constantly track customers and inventory as they move around. Shoppers must open the Amazon Go app to enter and any products they take from the store are automatically charged to their account when they leave. Amazon calls it the ‘Just Walk Out’ technology.
