Arctic Paws moves to Arizona
An Alaska-based pet food company is heading south this summer and moving to Arizona.
Arctic Paws, home to Yummy Chummies dog treats, says the decision to change locations was prompted for several reasons. The first is to reduce delivery times to the market place, said Brett Gibson, president of Arctic Paws. “The need to improve supply of product to the market place through reduced delivery times which is driven by growth in demand for our products,” Gibson said. “It also offers vendors a FOB pick up point in the contiguous 48 states.”
Additionally, the move is expected to assist the company in serving customers more efficiently, he said. “The move improves efficiency in offsetting ever increasing logistics costs which aids us in maintaining current product pricing structures in an otherwise inflationary environment,” Gibson said.
Aside from changing locations, nothing has changed in the supply chain on the production of Arctic Paws’ products, Gibson said. “Production of raw material of wild Alaska salmon is still 100% and managed by our protein production plant in Anchorage,” he added.
