Churn Foods Launches Mean Girls Inspired Hot Honey Butter

Churn Foods, the grass-fed flavored butter company, has released a hot honey butter in collaboration with Paramount Consumer Products to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fan-favorite classic Mean Girls (2004), as well as the streaming premiere of the new hit movie Mean Girls (2024) on Paramount+.

The collaboration, like all Churn Foods products, combines the finest grass-fed, hormone-free, non-GMO, high butterfat, European-style butter with the highest quality flavor-packed ingredients, hand-selected by founder Chef Michael Tashman.

“Our new Hot Honey Butter was created to make your meals more fetch and unlike the Plastics, you can sit (and cook) with us. Whether you choose to use the butter on popcorn, flavor your overnight oats or use it for a unique spin on wings, the limit does not exist,” said Chef Michael Tashman, Founder and CEO of Churn Foods.

Tashman’s inspiration for the hot honey butter came from growing up listening to his sister quoting Mean Girls. Never fully understanding the references, Tashman finally watched the movie with his girlfriend, who was shocked to hear that he had never watched the iconic film before. Now, he often finds himself asking “Is butter a carb” while using Churn and was ecstatic to partner up with Paramount to create the exciting collaboration.

Inspired by one of the “hottest” flavor trends of 2023, Tashman knew he wanted to create his own spin on the sweet and spicy obsession dominating social media. Hot honey was Monin’s flavor of the year and according to Flavorchem’s 2023 Flavor & Trend Forecast, hot honey grew 53 percent in consumer interest since last year, taking over American menus.

The hot pink packaging and sleeve, designed by Boredom Kills Creative, was inspired by the infamous “Burn Book” from the movie and is decorated with the same font/design as the original prop from the movie. Quotes such as “Is butter a carb?” and “So Fetch” are scattered throughout in a playful nod to some of the movie’s most recognizable moments.

Hot Honey Butter joins Churn’s lineup of Truffle, Garlic & Shallot, Parmesan & Pepper, Everything, Miso, Maple Cinnamon, Pesto, Bruschetta and Black Garlic, which are available in Costco, Bristol Farms, Gelson’s, Erewhon Market and Jimbo’s Naturally in Southern California as well as DTC on their website and Amazon. The hot honey butter can be purchased directly from Churn Foods’ website for $10 per 3 oz package.
