Clorox Not Expecting to Have Disinfecting Wipes Stock Until 2021

Clorox CEO Benno Dorer told Reuters earlier this week the company doesn’t expect to be able to stock grocery store shelves with its disinfecting wipes until 2021.

According to Reuters, the company usually holds a set supply of wipes for the flu season, but it’s experienced a six-fold increase in demand for many of its disinfectants this year. While Clorox is also experiencing low stocks of other products like Glad trash bags, it does expect most products, including liquid bleach, to be replenished in the next four to six months, Dorer said – just not the wipes.

Business Insider reports the wipes use some of the same raw materials, namely polyester spunlace, that is also used to make personal protective equipment like masks and gowns.
