Dollar General Opens First Store in Washington State
Dollar General recently announced the opening of its first store in Washington state, increasing its national presence to 46 states. This store opening in Cathlamet will provide Wahkiakum County residents with household essentials at everyday low prices in a convenient location.

A grand opening celebration for the new store located in Cathlamet is expected to be announced at a later date. Normal hours of operation may be found online here or through the Dollar General app. Dollar General also plans to open additional stores in Washington and currently has six stores under construction.

This includes dedicating its first hour of operations every day to senior customers and providing the medical community, first responders and the National Guard with a 10 percent discount on qualifying purchases through April 30. Store also continue to close one hour early to allow for employees to clean and re-stock each evening. The company also recently announced an approximate $35 million investment in bonuses for eligible employees who perform work during a 6-week period and is offering employees a 30 percent discount on private brands through early May.
To support currently-heightened demand both in Washington and throughout the country, the company is also planning to hire up to 50,000 employees by the end of April across its field, distribution center and private fleet networks.
