Edwards Virginia Smokehouse Unveils Pre-sliced Iberico Surryano Ham

Edwards Virginia Smokehouse, the third-generation, family-owned purveyor of cured ham, sausage, and bacon has made its Iberico Surryano Ham available in a convenient pre-sliced format for the first time, starting today Monday, May 3. Crafted with legendary Texas Iberico pork, the product is aged for more than 400 days and offers a rich flavor profile with buttery tasting notes. Previously available only in a bone-in, large-format version (retailing for more than $500), this new offering will make enjoying the luxurious Iberico Surryano Ham easier than ever.

This launch follows the initial release of Edwards’ Bone-In Surryano Iberico Ham in September 2020. Available for both web and retail purchase, the Sliced Iberico Surryano comes in two-ounce packages with ten per order, priced at $189 total (including shipping).

Made with Texas Iberico pork, Surryano Iberico Ham is an American masterpiece of long-aged hams. Edwards applies ancestral methods of salting, smoking and aging techniques to 100 percent purebred Iberico pigs raised on the serene countryside of Menard, Texas. Texas Iberico hogs, overseen by the Harris family of La Tienda, are descendants of the world-renowned Spanish Iberico pigs. They are antibiotic-free, pasture-raised humanely on a 1,500-acre ranch, where they forage for acorns, sweet mesquite beans and prickly pear fruit. This diet infuses the pork with intense flavor, which differs from the classic Surryano Ham and plentiful exercise means the pork is marbled with flavorful fat.
