Fresh Thyme Farmers Market Announces “Aggressive” Roll Out Plan
Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets representatives announced an “aggressive” roll-out plan that includes opening more than 60 stores and creating roughly 5,000 new jobs across the Midwest during the next five years.
Fresh Thyme is a new specialty grocery chain focused on offering a healthy and organic product assortment at competitive prices.
The first Fresh Thyme is expected to open Mt. Prospect, Illinois this spring. Eight more locations are anticipated to launch throughout this year in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
“Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets will be a completely new grocery format for the Midwest,” said Chris Sherrell, president and CEO of Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets in a statement. “We’ve taken the experience of an outdoor farmers market and combined it with the convenience of a full-service grocery store. Shoppers will enjoy value priced natural and organic items throughout our store, making healthy food more attainable to the masses.”
Each 28,000 square foot Fresh Thyme location will feature locally sourced and organic fruits and vegetables, gluten-free and dairy-free products and prepared meals, officials said.
