General Mills drops ‘100% natural’ from Nature’s Valley granola bars
After settling a lawsuit from a 2016 complaint about General Mills’ granola bars containing trace amounts of the weed-killing chemical glyphosate (RoundUp), on Aug. 23, the company said it had decided to drop its ‘100% natural’ label from its popular Nature’s Valley granola bars.
In a statement to Bloomberg, General Mills said, “Nature Valley is confident in the accuracy of its label.” The company did not admit or deny any wrongdoing. Mike Siemienas, a spokesman with the company informed the media that the ‘100% natural’ claim will be changed.
