HKW Portfolio Company Fresh Direct Produce Acquires Mike and Mike’s Organics

HKW, a middle-market private equity firm focused on growth-oriented companies, announced its portfolio company, Fresh Direct Produce, has acquired Mike and Mike’s. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, Mike and Mike’s is non-grower distributor of fresh certified organic fruits and vegetables sourced from the US and internationally as well as British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. In addition to fruits and vegetables, the company also sells grocery and snack products.

Mike and Mike’s serves more than 200 customers including national chains, independent retailers, wholesalers and food service companies.
