JADA Vegan Chicken Salt Maker Introduces Chick’n Mix as New Protein Alternative

JADA, a US-based company encouraging healthier eating and home cooking, made their Shark Tank debut this past Friday, Nov. 6 with Barbara Corcoran jumping at the opportunity to invest in this new food and beverage space for vegan and health-conscious consumers. The regular use of Chicken Salt is a fast-growing phenomenon in Australia and JADA is known for introducing Vegan Chicken Salt and Turmeric Salt to the United States.

Now, JADA is introducing its new plant-based Chick’n Mix which provides vegan and vegetarian consumers a chicken alternative with no meat or refrigeration needed. The product can be made into meatballs, nuggets, patties and more. View JADA’s successful Shark Tank segment here.

“When I heard the pitch for Chick’n Mix, I knew that this was something special that everyone needed on their dinner table,” said Shark Tank investor and real-estate mogul, Barbara Corcoran. “Plant-based meals are becoming more common than ever, and JADA’s Chick’n Mix is going to help lead that next wave of products.”

Khasha Touloei, a Dermatologist in Los Angeles, was training to be a physician and noticed that his diabetic patients with high blood pressure could never stick with their diet. Growing up in Australia, he remembered how his mother would always add Chicken Salt to meals – usually the ones he would refuse to eat. “As a physician, I feel it is my duty to offer tools that help individuals cook more at home and avoid processed foods by launching a turmeric-based seasoning line. I took my mother’s magical seasoning and made it healthier and available to US consumers.”

Touloei and his business partner, Maynard Okereke, became friends at the University of Washington in 2002 and set a goal to create a business that would impact the lives of others. They never imagined 18 years later, that journey would bring them onto ABC’s Shark Tank. “We are so excited to launch our Plant-Based Chick’n Mix,” said Okereke. “We want to contribute to the long-term goal of eliminating animal agriculture by providing healthier options for consumers.”
