Kroger partners with Drinks Holdings, launches wine delivery in 14 states

On Oct. 16, 2018, Kroger announced that it has metered into a partnership with Drinks Holdings so its customers can have wine delivered to their homes. Kroger’s decision comes on the heels of other grocers such as Thrive Market, Publix, HEB and Amazon offering wine delivery services. While other retailers have even offered customers own label wines, Kroger’s wine selection will come from California, Italy and Spain. Wines available for delivery through Kroger will cost between $10.83 and $16.67 a bottle and come in six or 12-bottle assortments.

Drinks Holdings provides an e-commerce platform for wine lovers. The company recently raised $15 million in a series B funding round led by Beverly Pacific, with participation from Shea Ventures. Drinks has raised a total of $28.3 million in funding to date. The company offers online wine programs to vendors such as Martha Stewart Wine Co., Wine Insiders and Boxed.com.
