Longève Hires Shawn Menard as Vice President of Sales

Plant-based protein brand Longève has hired Shawn Menard as Vice President of Sales. Menard began his career as a prep cook before climbing to executive chef status and opening fine dining restaurants. He then transitioned to the foodservice distribution world. He has held positions including Director of Supply Chain for the esteemed Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, Director of Business Development at Sysco and VP of Local Sales with US Foods.

“Longève is like no other plant-based protein brand on the market today,” said Menard. “I tried our Flagship product Plant-Based Protein Crumbles in a simple taco recipe as soon as I began discussions with the company, and I appreciate that it is a clean ingredient food that supports sustainable farming practices. Our foods are versatile and feature a neutral flavor profile, perfect for any type of prep and is a blank canvas for the addition of sauces and seasonings.”

Menard has tapped one of the largest national distributors in California to carry Longève products and plans to quickly accelerate into the Pacific Northwest, to the East Coast markets including NY metro and Florida and then expand into the middle America markets. He is positioning the brand for foodservice channels, working on the next generation of prepared and frozen foods and plans to focus R+D efforts to launch additional ethnic flavor profiles of their popular Plant-Based Protein Crumbles within the next 6-8 months. He is covering a broad spectrum of distribution categories including on-campus dining, healthcare and hospitality, as well.
