NestFresh Delivers 3,000 Dozen Eggs to Local Communities in Need

NestFresh, a leader in sustainable, local, humane and natural eggs, is once again taking a closer look at the communities it serves – particularly as many are grappling with new challenges and increased needs this holiday season. The brand’s philanthropic efforts will be exemplified in a total of nearly 3,000 dozen eggs donated to food pantries and charitable organizations throughout Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Organizations receiving eggs include Feeding South FloridaSecond Harvest Food Bank of MetrolinaLoaves and Fishes and Communities in Schools of Georgia. In a year that has been a challenge for so many, NestFresh is proud to have found a very tangible way to support the unsupported.

Hunger Free America, a national nonprofit based in New York City, released a study in which 11 percent of soup kitchens and food pantries nationwide reported that they didn’t distribute enough food to meet demand in 2020. Further, more than 22 percent of feeding programs were forced to turn people away, reduce the amount of food distributed or limit hours due to lack of resources. Just 4.8 percent of feeding programs reported doing the same in 2019.

“It breaks our hearts to know that there are so many families struggling to put food on the table, especially during the holidays,” said Sotheary Hom, Marketing Manager for NestFresh. “Not only do we know our egg donations will make an impact on these organizations in need, but we also hope they will inspire others to tune into the needs of their local communities.”

NestFresh believes raising happy hens is just one of many steps to cultivating healthy humans, and in turn, helping the community it serves. For this reason, the brand is proud to support and partner with organizations across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina that have an impact on families most in need. Supporting community partners like Feeding South Florida, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, Loaves and Fishes and Communities in Schools of Georgia is a small way to continue the company’s legacy of philanthropy.
