Robert Edwards has been announced as Steve Burd’s successor at Safeway. Effective May 14, Edwards will be appointed CEO. Most recently, Edwards led the Safeway marketing, merchandising, manufacturing, private label, distribution, finance and retail operations functions. He joined Safeway in 2004 as evp and CFO.
Prior to joining Safeway, Edwards held positions with Maxtor, Santa Fe Pacific and Imation.
