New England Food Show Postponed
Earlier this month and following the State of Emergency Declaration by Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker, the Massachusetts Restaurant Association announced that the New England Food Show (NEFS) was postponed. NEFS was scheduled to take place March 22-24, 2020 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, MA.
“This decision has been extremely difficult for us due to the impact that it will have on the local restaurant and food service community, but based on these recent events, the best course of action is to ensure the health and safety of all participants of New England Food Show,” said Bob Luz, President and CEO of Massachusetts Restaurant Association. “The local New England food service industry is an essential part of our economy, and we will continue to support the industry in every way possible.”
Luz continued, “We have been working over the past 10 days with city, state and federal officials as well as the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the National Restaurant Association to determine the best course of action for our show. Given the Governor’s decision, and his strong statement for private industry to follow his directive, we have made this decision in the best interest of attendees and exhibitors. Our Show Management Team and Venue partners are exploring options to deliver a 2020 New England Food Show later this year.”
