PLMA Live! Celebrates Life, Achievements of Brian Sharoff in New Video
The Private Label Manufacturers Association this week presents on its PLMA Live! Online channel a nine-minute video remembering and honoring the legacy of Brian Sharoff, who passed away last month at age 77.
Sharoff was president of the PLMA for nearly 40 years and helped grow the association’s membership to more than 4,400 companies around the world.
Reflecting on how the PLMA’s role has changed over that time, Sharoff said in one of the interview segments in the tribute video, “Now one needs to be able to look way beyond the traditional trade show, the traditional boundaries of countries, the traditional PR message and find new ways to communicate directly to consumers. So I would say, that in the future what PLMA, and as president, what is going to be my main concern is how to get the store brand message into the mindset of consumers. A very, very different role than anything contemplated in 1980.”
News anchor Jodi Daley is joined by VP of Communications Tim Simmons and Chairman Lisa Manzoline in this look back at Sharoff’s achievements and how he influenced the association and the greater industry.
