Publix names new Human Resource and Public Affairs executives

On July 19 Publix CEO and President Todd Jones announced Marcy Benton, 49, as the new VP of Human Resources and John Provenzano, 44, as VP of Public Affairs.

Benton, who began her career with Publix as an accounting clerk in 1992, will be responsible for all human resources functions. After joining human resources in 1995 and holding various positions, she was promoted to her current position, Vice President of Talent Management in 2017.

Provenzano’s new role will include responsibilities for government relations, customer care & social media and media & community relations. Provenzano began his Publix career in 2017 as Vice President of Government Relations. He previously held the role of Executive Director of the National Association of State Treasurers and before that was the Government Affairs Director for Delta Air Lines.

“Marcy and John have a passion for Publix and our associates,” said Publix CEO & President Todd Jones. “I’m excited they will help us continue the growth and success of our company and assist in perpetuating our culture,” Jones said.
