Publix to Open 2nd Kentucky Location

Publix Super Markets has signed a lease for a second store in Kentucky. Like the first Kentucky store, this location will be in Louisville, located at the northeast corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road in Jefferson County. The Publix will feature a 55,701-square-foot Publix supermarket, including a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 2,800-square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine and spirits.

The store is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024; a grand opening date has not yet been determined.

“We are proud to be planting roots in Jefferson County and look forward to building lifelong relationships with our new customers,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said. “With two planned stores currently in development, we are excited to continue sharing our Publix culture and commitment to service with the Bluegrass State.”

The company announced its entry into Kentucky, its eighth state, in September.
