Raley’s Meets Online Demand Surge by Converting Old Location to Temporary Fulfillment Center

Raley’s has temporarily converted an old location in Sacramento, CA, to an e-commerce fulfillment center in reaction to the significant increase in online demand for food and essential items. The store will not be open for customers to shop or for pick up orders, but local stores will continue to fill pick-up orders.

The new strategy allows employees to fill online delivery orders efficiently without working registers or assisting customers. The store will include the most frequently purchased products. Raley’s aims to hire 80 employees to man the fulfillment center who will do delivery pick-ups from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Team members will be filling orders, stocking, supporting deliveries and orders.
