Randall Onstead steps down as Bi-Lo’s President & CEO
Randall Onstead, president and CEO of Bi-Lo Holdings is stepping down from his position, effective March 1. In addition to Onstead’s impending departure, Mark Prestidge, evp and chief operating officer, resigned from Bi-Lo Holdings on Dec. 31.
A new president and CEO has been identified, according to Brian Wright, a spokesperson for Bi-Lo Holdings. However, the company isn’t naming Onstead’s successor just yet.
Onstead joined Bi-Lo and its parent company Lone Star Holdings in 2008 as chairman of Bi-Lo. In 2012, Bi-Lo acquired Winn-Dixie, a chain more than double the size of Bi-Lo, for $560 million. Onstead was named president and CEO of the combined companies, known as Bi-Lo Holdings. The following year, in 2013, Onstead led Bi-Lo Holdings’ acquisition of Sweetbay, Reid’s and Harvey’s divisions from Delhaize.
