Schnucks Commits $60,000 to LifeWiseSTL

Furthering its mission to nourish the lives of people in the communities that it serves, Schnuck Markets, Inc. has announced a $60,000 donation to LifeWiseSTL. Located in the La Salle Park area of St. Louis City, LifeWiseSTL operates City Harvest Market at 1321 South 11th Street which sells highly-subsidized food to qualified nearby residents in the area.

Previously a food pantry, LifeWiseSTL transitioned to the market format (accepting EBT) focused on providing fresh and frozen products with a goal of helping area residents in need create a pathway out of poverty.

“As St. Louis’ largest grocer, we know that we must lead in the continuing fight against food insecurity and hunger,” said Schnucks Director of Corporate External Relations Schron Jackson. “We salute LifeWiseSTL and their role in empowering area residents to provide for themselves and their families.”

“We are very appreciative of the partnership with Schnuck Markets in support of our City Harvest Market,” said LifeWiseSTL President and CEO Scott E. Walker. “As a result, we can offer our participants a healthy variety of food options in a dignified way as they work towards economic mobility for themselves and their families. We are grateful to be one of the many ways Schnucks supports the St. Louis community.”
