Sea Tales Seafood Brand Now Available at Whole Foods, Stop & Shop
Sea Tales, a sustainable seafood brand, launches nationally in the US this month. The Sea Tales seafood range, beginning with their canned line, will roll out to the shelves of all Whole Foods Markets stores throughout September.
Celebrity chef, cookbook author, and sustainable fishing activist Bart van Olphen founded the company to save not only the oceans but also the small fishing communities around the world he was privileged to meet while filming an award-winning cooking series. “I quickly realized that if these communities, ones that fish with respect to nature, are given an opportunity to thrive, then so will the oceans,” said van Olphen.
At Sea Tales, every product has a story. With a quick glance at the package, consumers will learn everything they need to know about where the fish came from, and even who caught it. For those who are more curious, a quick swipe over the QR code brings you straight to the source, in stunning videos that van Olphen and his team have produced.
All Sea Tales products are sourced from fisheries independently certified by the third-party Marine Stewardship Council. This guarantees the sustainable heritage of the products and is aligned with the Sea Tales mission, which is ensuring consumers continue to enjoy delicious seafood endlessly through sustainable fishing and education.
Both Whole Foods Markets and Stop & Shop are launching with Sea Tales canned tunas: Skipjack, pole and line caught in the Maldives, and Albacore, pole and line caught off the coast of Spain. Additionally, Stop & Shop will be carrying anchovies, caught by fisherman Jorge and his crew off the Argentine coast as well as sardines caught off the Cornwall coast of England. Additional Sea Tales products from the canned and fresh line will be launching later in the year, such as Smoked Wild Salmon from Alaska.
