Tacodeli Enters H-E-B: Salsas and Queso Now Available Statewide
Tacodeli, a Texas-based, award-winning taqueria created by chef/founder Roberto Espinosa and partner Eric Wilkerson, has announced continued expansion of its retail product line by rolling out six flavors of salsas and dips at 290 H-E-B stores across Texas. The expanded retail rollout follows years of success selling salsas, tortillas and tortilla chips at Whole Foods Market and other natural and organic grocers across the state.
Starting now, H-E-B will carry four Tacodeli salsas and two dips, including the 19x-award-winning Salsa Doña (aka Creamy Jalapeño). The line also includes 12-oz. containers of Salsa Verde, Salsa Roja, Black Bean Dip, Queso and a brand-new Chunky Salsa; the new Chunky Salsa, a retail exclusive and not available at Tacodeli restaurants, has been developed as an ideal pairing with a consumer’s favorite tortilla chip. This line of fresh, refrigerated items can be found in the Deli section of H-E-B stores – where the chain carries its vast array of Simple Meal entrees, tamales and sides.
“With 11 restaurants across the state, Tacodeli has been part of the Texas community for 25 years. All of our salsas and dips are made right here in Texas, and we’re proud to expand our retail offerings across the Lone Star State. We’ve been committed to serving high-quality food ever since our first location opened in 1999. We are excited for H-E-B shoppers to discover what has made Tacodeli a fan favorite for so many years,” said Jeff Day, President of Tacodeli’s retail business.
The first Tacodeli restaurant opened in Austin, TX in 1999 and has since expanded to 13 locations across Austin, Dallas, Houston and Plano. Tacodeli began selling its retail products in grocery stores in 2017 and has grown substantially in recent years as consumers have discovered the authentic flavors and uncompromising commitment to quality contained in every 12-oz. container. The H-E-B launch marks another step for Tacodeli as it expands its retail offerings in Texas and beyond – en route to becoming a nationally-recognized brand.
