Yaya’s Garden Introduces Consumers to Frozen, Plant-based Greek Cuisine

Yaya’s Garden, makers of premium, frozen, plant-based and Mediterranean entrées, has announced its launch into Whole Foods markets nationally and in Central Market stores. Each entrée is inspired by the recipes of the brand’s Greek matriarch and grandmother, Yaya, offering adventure-seeking shoppers fresh, bold and unique flavor profiles paired with a convenient, “ready when you are” frozen format. Four entrée SKUs, Pastitsio, Gemista, Moussaka and Melitzana, launch at an SRP of $6.99 in Central Market. The Pastitsio and Gemista varieties will launch in Whole Foods markets this summer with the promise to deliver more quality and value than traditional frozen entrées.

All-natural, non-GMO ingredients and powerful plant-based protein come together to offer families the opportunity to experience authentic Greek vegetarian cuisines in a new way with Yaya’s Garden. Of the vegetarian options launching in Whole Foods, Moussaka is a rich, Greek casserole, while Pastitsio represents a luscious Greek lasagna. The remaining entrées – all vegan – include Melitzana, the brand’s take on a Greek, baked eggplant dish and Gemista, a Greek take on the stuffed pepper and tomatoes.

“We’re really excited about the possibilities our new Mediterranean entrées bring to frozen food shoppers,” said Collin Tuthill, President of Royal Food. “Consumers can now satisfy their need for convenience and a strong desire to break from the ordinary with premium, delicious and authentic Greek cuisine.”

Yaya’s Garden’s new line continues to position the company as a premium quality leader for frozen entrées. The brand also offers soup varieties at an SRP of $4.99 and side dishes at an SRP of $5.99, all touting the same qualities consumers love: All-natural, without GMOs, vegetarian and loaded in not only plant-based protein but also handmade quality families can see and taste, just like Yaya would have made.
