The Fresh Market Announces New President & CEO

The Fresh Market named Rick Anicetti as the company’s new president & CEO. Anicetti is the first CEO hired from outside of the company. He replaces Sean Crane, vp & COO, who served as interim president & CEO of The Fresh Market since early 2015.

Prior to joining The Fresh Market, Anicetti was president & CEO of Food Lion and was a strategic adviser for Ares Capital. He also served as a board member for Smart & Final and Numbers Holdings, the parent company of 99 Cents Only, which Anicetti served as interim CEO of during 2013. Anicetti joined Hannaford Brothers in 1980 and was appointed evp and general manager of the Southeast division in 1994. He was promoted to COO of Food Lion in 2000 and a year later in 2001, was named president & COO, a position Anicetti held until 2010. He attended Bowdoin College.
