Category Leadership Awards: Dips

The fresh refrigerated dips category saw a 5.8 percent increase in sales in 2025, driven by premium and healthier formulations, according to Circana.

Tara Murray, VP of Marketing at ¡Yo Quiero!, reported, “One standout for ¡Yo Quiero! this year has been our flavor-forward guacamole lineup, especially items that give shoppers something familiar but with a little more excitement, like Hatch Chile Guacamole and a Mexico-inspired line of guacamole. We believe the success comes from meeting consumers where they already are. They want fresh, convenient dips that feel high-quality, taste homemade and can work across multiple occasions, from snacking to entertaining to easy meal building.”

The company’s Hatch Chile Guacamole and Black Bean Dip were recognized in the Good Housekeeping Snack Awards. Its Queso Blanco was a winner in this year’s Mindful Awards. “¡Yo Quiero! has always focused on creating dips that feel fresh, approachable and full of flavor. Our portfolio goes beyond one core item and gives retailers a complete destination across guacamole, salsa, queso, white dips and bean dips. That variety allows us to serve multiple shopper needs within the same set, whether someone is looking for a better-for-you snack, a party dip, a taco night staple or a quick meal solution. We are also intentional about flavor innovation, bringing products to market that feel exciting but still make sense for everyday use,” Murray explained.

Oolie Custardy Creamy Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative has been popular this year. Faith Ferguson, VP of Sales and Marketing at Oolie Foods, explained why: “The egg protein and clean ingredients—and it’s delicious!”

She added, “The GLP-1 trend is big, and Oolie makes foods that are both nutritious and delicious but also provide the protein these consumers must have with flavors and textures that are truly satisfying. When consumers are super conservative about what goes into their bodies, Oolie’s simple and familiar foods that deliver with protein-forward ingredients really make a daily difference.”

Oolie Foods stands out for its leadership in sustainability. “We wanted to eliminate as much food waste as possible from modern food manufacturing. As the country’s largest manufacturer of retail free-range and organic hard-boiled eggs, we sought ways to use every egg we cook, even if it did not look perfectly peeled. As product leaders with decades of experience, we found ways to upcycle what was once unusable and also meet the unique needs of dairy-free consumers,” commented Ferguson.

Sabra Dipping Co. has been America’s top hummus brand for more than 10 years. With flavors such as roasted red pepper or supremely spicy, the dips are made with planet-positive ingredients.

Sabra, which was acquired by PepsiCo in 2024, recently published insights from Circana revealing that July and August are peak snacking months. Consumer habits were driven by social and entertainment-driven moments.
