CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states and the US Food and Drug Administration are investigating a multi-state outbreak of salmonella infections linked to red onions.
According to official reports, there has been a total of 396 ill people in 34 states and 59 people have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported.
